Camera Controlled Digital Cutting & Contour Cutting
Forget the limitations of traditional die-cutting. With Amersham Signs new Digital Die-Cutter, your creative team can “think outside the rectangle” — even for short runs. Here’s why.
Traditionally, creating a die was expensive and time-consuming. So for short runs, die-cutting was not economical. As a result, projects with quantities of 100 or less were limited to square or rectangular designs.
ASD’s digital die-cutting starts with the design files you create in Illustrator or Photoshop. An electric eye, which operates like a Global Positioning System (GPS), projects a pattern of dots to outline the design. Using digital versions of cutting tools like routers and knives, the machine cuts along the dots precisely and automatically. So whether you need one Gatorfoam print with rounded corners or 500 intricately-contoured styrene signs, amersham sign design can produce it quickly and cost-effectively.
Digital die-cutting can be used on most materials — Inkjet and Lambda Prints, Gatorfoam, Sintra, styrene, Coroplast, Lexan, vinyl and more. And we’ve done jobs as small as 3″ x 4″ and as large as 5′ x 8′, so size is seldom an issue. Need special features like scoring or kiss-cutting? Simple. Even specialized cuts are done automatically in a single step.

The state of the art Zund offers an affordable alternative to traditional die cutting especially when you have a small run. The I-cutter is capable of contour cutting a wide variety of materials, from kiss cutting vinyl to routering of acrylic sheets. It is capable of cutting material up to 1″ thick and will router up to 1/2″ thick materials.
